Kaptiva Sports Academy Barcelona

We’re from Saudi Arabia, and my 13-year-old son joined Kaptiva Sports Academy in Barcelona for a 3-week summer camp held at the Europe International School — and the experience was absolutely amazing! From the start, everything was professionally managed — from registration and clear policies to the high-quality coaching staff. They provided uniforms, weekly reports, and certificates, and followed a structured daily routine that taught my son not only football skills but also discipline and teamwork. He was fully immersed in the camp throughout the three weeks, and I only got to see him on weekends — that’s how engaging and fun it was for him. One of the highlights was that he made new friends from different countries, which made the experience even more special and memorable. They also planned great extra activities like city tours and beach trips, adding variety and fun outside of the training sessions. If I had to mention downsides, the food quality could be better, and the full daily schedule was a bit exhausting for my son. But overall, it was an incredible experience, and I’m seriously considering enrolling him again in the future. Highly recommended for any young athlete looking to grow on and off the field in an international, supportive environment

My son (15 yr old) is enrolled at Kaptiva for his freshman year of high school. While letting him move to Spain at such a young age was very hard for me, the benefits have FAR exceeded any negatives of letting your child leave home early. So much so we have already signed him back up for his second year. The program, and all of the staff is TOP notch. Very very impressed, and he is SO happy there and thriving. Our son absolutely loves his soccer coach and says he’s the best coach he’s ever had. From what I’ve seen in person I would agree. I love what he’s teaching and how he’s teaching and how he expects results from the boys but is very supportive of them in his approach.

This summer, we had the incredible opportunity to travel to Spain with Kaptiva Sports, and it was an experience of a lifetime! My son trained and played with outstanding coaches from both Kaptiva and Real Madrid. His hard work and dedication led to him being selected to attend the prestigious Surf Cup competition in Salou, Spain. Before the competition, George trained with Kaptiva in Barcelona, and everything was seamless. The Kaptiva team was exceptional — organized, professional, and supportive. Every detail was well-coordinated, making the trip smooth and stress-free. A special thanks to Joan and Coach Diego for all the superb feedback and advice they gave George at the end of the competition. Their insights made a huge impact on his growth and confidence. The impact this experience has had on George is truly priceless. He gained invaluable skills, built lasting friendships, and created memories that will stay with him forever. We are absolutely delighted with how everything turned out and deeply grateful to the Kaptiva team for making this journey so memorable. I just wanted to reach out and let you know how thankful we are for the opportunity you gave to Chad. We took so much away from this trip. We made lifetime memories, and the experience for Chad as a player for development was next level. Seeing him on the field since we have been home, we see a difference. And we aren't the only ones that have noticed. I really enjoyed being able to talk to you throughout the trip, but especially during the game last Sunday. My son took part in a month football summer camp in 2024 - as he says himself it was a fantastic sport, social, language experience. From a parent perspective: great organization, communication, staff attitude; very good sports and boarding facilities. All in all an amazing athletic and life experience for a teenager - much appreciated and highly recommended. Thank you all at Kaptiva

Great academy, my brother has exceled tremendously during his time at Kaptiva. The coaches are heavily involved in the kids and it shows! Id recommend to any parents looking for a soccer academy for their kids!

Our kid attended Kaptiva's U16 program for the 22/23 season and we had a terrible experience. They made a series of promises in order to sell the program in the beginning but subsequently renegaded once payments were made. For example, in Aug '22, the Kaptiva Head of Admissions promised: (1) a 2-year program minimum (2) weekly games in second division of the Catalonia youth league (3) video analyses of weekly games (4) transport to and from away games (5) personalized coach (6) healthy buffet meals At the last minute at season-end, our kid was told not to return for next year, without fulfilling points 1, 3, and 4 of the above list, and partially fulfilling points 2, 5 and 6. This gives us no time to react, especially to help our kid recover emotionally, because we were given no prior notice. Weekly games only started in end-Oct - they took their time to get my kid his league license. Personalized coach was removed after first semester because of costs. Meal portions were small and restricted to just 2 helpings with even raw meat served once. No video recordings of games or training were done, let alone video analyses. Transport was not available and no help in getting to away games was given; my kid was told to find a way to get to games himself, with team mates or other families. In addition, Kaptiva head coach had no idea that my kid injured his back towards the end of the season and told us that he was lazy because he didn't attend trainings. On the contrary, Kaptiva's physio actually registered our son's rigorous attendance. Evidently, the Head Coach paid little attention to his recovering players. Kaptiva residential director was often overwhelmed by his responsibility and couldn't always provide proper care, especially when my kid fell ill. Upon more indepth scrutiny, we discovered more inconsistencies in how Kaptiva applied its Code of Conduct that every athlete signed - some favored athletes (we wont mention who to protect minors but you can see from Kaptiva's instagram) blatantly flouted rules and were allowed to stay. Academically, Kaptiva negligently projected our kid to fail the year 3 months before the academic year ends as part of Kaptiva's again biased assessment (he eventually passed the year). Executively, Kaptiva's Head of Admission gave us tremendous pressure to pay ahead of scheduled dates, even threatening to throw our kid's luggage on to the streets if we are late, and then just disappeared after payments were made, until its time to tell us that our kid cannot continue right before season 22/23 ended. Truth should be told, we trusted Kaptiva our son. We believed that Kaptiva, as a professional institution would keep its promises. We were bitterly disappointed by biased assessments, negligence and a thorough lack of professionalism. Parents and athletes, beware of marketing gimmicks and slick words!

Kaptiva Sports Academy has been a life changing experience for my son Eric. Going to Spain at 13 was a tough decision that he made himself and Kaptiva became his full time family. My main takeaways from the past year. -He matured immensely as an athlete, student and young man -His soccer level increased dramatically, he developed a solid foundation in the Spanish way -He made friendships that have already outlived the 10 month term and will continue well into the future -He felt safe, valued the freedoms he had and enjoyed the living situation -As the parents we had 100% confidence in the whole Kaptiva team, they take their jobs seriously while maintaining a safe and fun environment for the boys I can’t say enough about Kaptiva Sports Academy, recommended unconditionally!

We are a great community of athletes and we believe in empowering the potential of children in Latin America. we hear that KSA is an important example. Close relatives were encouraged to pay exorbitant fees for a service that promised much and lacked quality, expertise, and ethics. Children arrive with dreams and have non-segmented support. In the time I followed what the kaptiva school does, I saw that they give prominence depending on economic capacity. They do not give a specific reason why they do not allow continuity and say that there is no quota. Just after two weeks they publish that there are 5 spots and open 5 spaces..

Great football academy!

My son spent two weeks at summer camp at Kaptiva. It was fantastic time for him. The camp was above over our expectations! Despite all of his worries at the begginings was delighted! This camp really developed him as a player, human and friend. If you hesitate if it is worth to participate - stop! Thanks to all the staff members and we will be back next summer and hope to stay for one-year programme.

My son Iyaad participated in the Kaptiva Barcelona 2 week summer camp from 3rd July until the 15th of July 2022 ,he describes it as an amazing experience he will always cherish. He thoroughly enjoyed every moment both off and on the training field and descrbes the coaches and personel as wonderful people who made him feel at home and special.He thoroughly enjoyed the training , and learnt a lot both on and off the field. Let me express my gratitude for Kaptiva, the whole team, thank you! Just dropped my son at the residence, his eyes were bright and so happy to be back. That’s truly all a mother and a father wants for their child, a happy soul. He is looking forward to achieving the best he can be. We were greeted by a wonderful team, a warm welcoming! Every little single detail in the residence was thought of carefully, one can tell straight away. Everything was perfect, and I mean it, perfect. Our son Yannick joined Kaptiva Sports Academy in september 2019. Expectations were very high after he passed the trials, earlier in March. And these high expectations were all met! The programme was excellent, the young staff matey but firm. As his parents we felt comfortable to leave Yannick in their hands. Unfortunately Yannick tore his cruciate ligament early in the season, and we thought that that was the end of his Kaptiva adventure. Thanks to the tremendous effort of the staff, he had surgery by the best team he could get (the surgeons of FC Barcelona, thanks to Figi) and was coached throughout most of his revalidation, until Corona forced him to go home. Seeing him play again, makes us feel extremely grateful to Joel. Despite his injury, Yannick was able to join a great part of the Kaptiva programme, except for the field training and matches. We were very much attracted to the Kaptiva programme because it offers much more than soccer only. The programme focusses on soccer and but just as much on personal development. We have seen Yannick grow as a person, become mentally stronger. Last year turned out differently than expected, but we wouldn’t have missed it for the world. Thanks Kaptiva!

Como colegio impresionante,se nota donde hay dinero pero el campo de futbol es muy pequeño,si que esta bien,pero con lo bien que lo tienen todo el campo es lo más pobre que he visto. Y todo muy limpio y bien cuidado.

Kaptiva es una experiencia 360°; buscan sacar el máximo potencial de los chicos tanto en el fútbol cómo en los estudios, proporcionándoles una educación de calidad. Además cuentan con unos profesionales que hacen que los niños se sientan como en casa.

El mejor sitio para aprender lo que es el ambiente del fútbol y con un staff que se va a entregar a sus jugadores.

Taking my nephew to the camp and having the Barcelona experience was quite a privilege. The parents day and the presentation made by the Director was an eye opener to what the instructors do and what the participants also enjoy during their stay in camp. Parents also had the opportunity to see their children play at the play ground. What a great experience. I look forward to be there again!

Kaptiva Sports Academy is by far the best that has happened in my life. The experience of being part of a football high performance center like this has changed me as a footballer but on top of everything has made me a better person and has provided me with worldwide friends forever. Thank you to KSA and specially to its staff! You have always been there to help!

Amazing experience for Nicolas, getting the opportunity to play football in Spain with great trainers

Kaptiva has proven to be a great choice for our son to grow and develop both as a Football player and as an individual, and we have noticed visible improvement over the course of this year. Further, he has received tremendous support from all staff in an atmosphere that is very much like a home away from home. The Academy provides an opportunity for our son to pursue his dream of a Footballer, while continuing his schooling in an English environment at the same site with first class facilities. The Academy also provides valuable exposure and our son had the privilege to participate in the MIC tournament and to visit world class Football Clubs / facilities such as Valencia, Sevilla and Manchester (both City and United). Based on our experience, we strongly recommend KAPTIVA to anyone wishing to give their child the opportunity of pursuing their Football dream.

We started our relationship with Kaptiva 4 years ago when my son joined the Barcelona Escola that Kaptiva operated in Florida. When they invited him to join their elite soccer program in Sant Cugat, Barcelona we felt that because of my son's young age at the time it would be best for us to move with him, which was a major family decision. After his first year in Kaptiva Barcelona we can say that the overall experience has been a very positive one. We have appreciated the dedication of the coaches and been impressed with all the support staff, as well. The high school program through Nebraska University has worked well for our son. The fact that the school itself has students from over 40 countries and Kaptiva from over 20 has been a huge learning opportunity to understand other cultures, religions, etc. which has enriched his experience. The bottom line is that if you are looking for an intensive soccer program in a safe environment (Sant Cugat is a great little town), run by caring, dedicated professionals, we would highly recommend Kaptiva Sports Academy.

Kaptiva Sports Academy is highly recommended. Three years of training with the Spanish soccer way, improvement as a footballer is very good. Also growing as a person is something they all learn. We are very satisfied with the school, living arrangement and the soccer sessions. There will always be something to improve on but in the big picture we are very happy with Kaptiva! The players live their dream and hopefully when they do their football dreams too!

The wondeful team of Kaptiva a great group of individuals I went to visit them last minute(NO APPOINTMENT) They took the time to show me they great facility and equipment they even let me participate in a conference that include a nice lunch that i wasn't invite to , My son is only 10 years old by Im looking forward to visit Montse and her fantastic team in the near future .....if they allow my 10 years old i will pack and be there tomorrow!!
